When I first heard Jason Chaffetz speak (about 8 months ago), he promised his campaign finances would reflect the type of legislation he would support in Congress. The type of finances he was referring to was the fact that he would not go into debt. On the national level he was referring to the fact that he would support fiscally responsible legislation. His speech that night seemed genuine and therefore I left a supporter. I am glad I did. As we are now under 3 weeks to the election, “Jason for Congress” staff announced last evening that the campaign still has more than $80,000 in campaign funds, and more importantly he has been true to his word. If only Congress as a whole could be this responsible we would be well on our way to shrinking the $10 trillion national debt! Kudos to Jason!! Thousands of us are waiting for the polls to open!

It is one of the saddest things that congress has no restraint.
I’ve been following the Chaffetz campaign long enough to see that he is serious about being fiscally responsible. He’s willing to make tough decisions. He’s bound to offend some people with what he is willing to cut but that is exactly the kind of political will we so desperately need in Washington.
