As for vouchers, slam dunk, they should be done for now, er um, until the next legislative session I am sure.

Congratulations to the new Salt Lake City mayor, Ralph Becker, elected in Salt Lake City. I for one am looking forward to not seeing Rocky Anderson on the news every night. Now if we could get him to shut up and stay off the news altogether it will be a sweet change in the times.

The Ogden City mayoral race is a close one. So far a neck-and-neck race between Matthew Godfrey and Susan Van Hooser.

Salt Lake City’s proposition #1 for public safety facilities is a close one - I reckon 1/2 of the residents of Salt Lake City think the public safety department has sufficient funds for now.

And of course the creation of a West Jordan-only school district is clearly not supported by the residents of West Jordan (70% against). Seems like the residents of West Jordan are smart enough to realize that another school district equates to spending millions of tax dollars on administrative folks rather than educating children. Imagine that. Way to go West Jordan.

Another interesting race for me is the Blufdale City Council-at-Large. Strangely Jesse Kelley (incumbent) received 0 votes (yes, zero). Hmm, I am thinking there must have been a computer glitch, or perhaps he removed himself from the race. Votes in the small city went to Rod Flanigan.

And congratulations of course goes to my townsfolk in the new West Jordan City Council: Kim Rolfe (District 1), Jim Lems (District 2), Ben Southworth (District 3), and Lyle Summers (District 4).
