Very interesting to learn that another very rare 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon was found in a home near Palmyra, New York recently. According to an article at Yahoo, there are only a few hundred still in existence, and this one is up for auction this week. But the real story to talk about is that the story indicates Jack Hajicek, a Mormon History collector, already owns 75 copies of the original 1830 publishing. Why would he need a 76th? What is he trying to accomplish? Does he want them all? Probably just trying to lower the book’s availability in order to artificially drive the prices up. As a fan of history, this behavior is discouraging. I would much rather have the copies spread throughout the world (in museums and personal collections) to permit all of us a better chance of seeing a copy.
