I was deeply saddened yesterday morning upon learning of a family friend’s passing, Stephen Anderson, who was killed in the line of duty by the inmate who was being transported to a medical exam. My father is a peace officer and actually waved to the two of them while enroute to the doomed situation. Firsthand I can testify to Stephen’s kind and caring demeanor. He was an extraordinary man. One can not help but pause and thank the many peace officers who risk their own lives from day-to-day for the general public’s well-being. Thanks Stephen, for your service. And sincere condolences to the Anderson family. What a tremendous, unbearable loss.
