There has been a debate in Utah the last couple years over the legality of utilizing crosses to mark the location where a state trooper has fallen in the line of duty. The primary opponents are aetheists (backed by the ACLU) utilizing the reasoning that by endsoring the use of a cross does not properly represent a separation of church and state. Get real folks. Although admitedly the cross is a Christian symbol, it has also become a non-denominational symbol of a marked grave, end of story. Hats off to the Utah Legislature for passing this measure without one dissenting vote. Now let’s see if the Senate can use as much reason. You can read a short blurp here at KSL.

Actually MY religion discourages the use of crosses (on necklaces, headstones, etc). I still don’t have a problem with the state making this decision.
