I was thrilled to hear of the whistle-blower at the Ogden City Police Department, namely the news that an Ogden City policeman had been fired and that he was publicily accusing the department of bad practices. Why? Because in the federal government I see blatant waste on a day-to-day basis and I seriously get tired of not being […]

I was horrified to learn this morning of more violence in Iraq, indicating at least 36 more dead. Apparently this round of violence was in response to a Shiite leader being killed. Although I supported the Iraq War (mainly the removal of Saddam Hussein), you can not help but wonder at this point why the […]

As being one who has witnessed bighorn sheep in the “wild” up American Fork Canyon, I was thrilled to learn the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources introduced 55 new residents. KSL has additional details here.

Wow, the Sundance Film Festival is here! I monitored expensive aircraft (Learjets, Gulfstreams, etc) arriving Heber City airport all afternoon today every ten minutes or so. A very interesting perspective watching everyone literally fall down on the town of Park City. This is an amazing event for Utah’s economy!

In watching the newest episode of Smallville, Clark Kent (Tom Welling) states, “What could be more complicated than living your life with regrets?” It actually is a deep, thought-provoking statement. Go ahead and ask yourself the same. Let’s all live life to the fullest! Chad.

I was working the mid-shift (graveyard) this morning and about 4:30AM we started experiencing landline problems — Landlines are the communications we utilize to coordinate ATC instructions with surrounding facilities (like Oakland Center, Los Angeles Center, Salt Lake Approach, etc) — Apparently the airspace I was managing was not the only one experiencing problems as the problem […]

I was bothered upon learning about an SUV explosion in downtown Salt Lake City on January 6th, as I am sure many were. I was deeply disheartened yesterday upon learning the act was an apparent suicide pact. And even worse came the news today that the driver was Duston Riley, a friend from work. Condolences to the […]
