Mayor Anderson apparently requested his staff (publicily mind you) to refrain from drinking bottled water due to pollution. Oh brother. How about not looking like an idiot and simply suggest people recycle a bit more? I wonder if he actually thinks about what he is going to talk about in a press release before the camera is turned on. You can read about his announcement here at ksl.com. There is also an interesting read here at nbc.com regarding how recycling can actually make a difference (as opposed to stopping the billions of bottles of water that are produced each year). Man, I would be embarassed if I lived in Salt Lake City proper. It is bad enough we live in the same county.
