Well folks, the last three elections have shown some interesting trends, particularly the most recent. November 2006 witnessed a huge swing in voters from the conservative right to the liberal left. What is the reason for the drastic change? Perhaps it is the mere fact that while conservatives had control of both houses in Congress and the White House for four years (from 2002 to 2006), yet the federal government increased in size notwithstanding the Republican promises to make government a smaller part of our lives. And speaking of Republicans, what happened to Social Security reform? It was a known fact that serious discussion would arise between 2002 and 2006 regarding Social Security reform, but all that I heard was silence. What is happening to modern conservatism?
